Topological Physics
I am interested in the ways topology and geometry conspire in electromagnetism and quantum mechanics. I am particularly interested in the Aharonov–Bohm effect, topological electromagnetic angular momentum, magnetic monopoles and dyons, where concepts such as winding and linking numbers, gauge invariance, nonlocality, quantisation and electromagnetic duality become directly intertwined with physical observables. More broadly, I am interested in those situations where topology is not merely a mathematical description of physics, but becomes part of the physics itself.
